Mary's Walk Raises More Than $61,000

SACO - Once again the annual Mary's Walk and Kerrymen Pub Road Race was a success last weekend as supporters turned out to help Maine's Cancer Research and Education Foundation.
A total of 607 walkers and 297 runners took to the streets of Saco to remember Mary Kerry Libby and raise funds to fight cancer. Local businesses combined to raise $31,500 while pledges from competitors came in at $30,090. |

The most business funds were raised by Verizon and Ewing's Posse while the Jortberg family came in as the top individuals.
The four-mile race was won by Biddeford High senior Jeff Gaudette, who finished the course in 21 minutes 10 seconds. Gaudette is the reigning indoor state champion for the Class A mile and two-mile.
Finishing second in the men's race was Dan Dearing of Lisbon Falls in 21:35 while Lyman's David Scott was third.
In the women's race, Christine Snow-Reaser of Dayton took top honors in 22:52. Whe was followed over the finish line by Tonyz Lutz of Saco (24:39) and Missy Ferry of Orono (25:48).
